Job Summary

We are now accepting resumes/applications for a Equipment Maintenance Tech in the Houma LA and surrounding area. We are looking for a highly motivated and independent person to train procedures and policies.

Qualifications:

REQUIRED: High School Diploma or (GED) equivalent
REQUIRED: Strong mechanical aptitude; Maintain a tool inventory; Louisiana Cat offers employees a Tooling Purchasing Program
While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to stand; use hands to finger handle or feel and reach with hands and arms
The employee must be able to occasionally lift 75 pounds from floor to chest
The employee must have the ability to reach and use the arms within a full range of motion in order to retrieve stocked parts
The employee must have the ability to endure prolonged stooping kneeling crouching and squatting while performing mechanical operations
The employee must be able to exert push/pull forces with the arms in order to use various wrenches and tools
The employee must be able to endure prolonged forward and overhead arm positions while performing mechanical operations
The employee must be able to use the hands to grasp hand tools and parts
The employee must have the ability to climb onto and operate equipment
Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment
We require strict compliance with PPE (personal protective equipment) safety regulations

Responsibilities:

For technicians overtime is typically calculated on a daily basis after 8 hours worked
The person in this role will be responsible for servicing and repairing construction rental heavy equipment in the shop or in the field
You will have access to FREE training and development courses!
You will diagnose troubleshoot repair and perform preventative maintenance on all components of heavy rental equipment including engines power trains hydraulics and fuel systems
You will create track and formalize work order documents on a timely basis
You will have the ability to be flexible with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Requires physical movement lifting squatting bending climbing and working with mechanical rotating parts in the Louisiana climate
Employee regularly works indoors around moving mechanical parts
May be exposed to weather extremes when working outside in conditions that include inclement weather heat cold and humidity
Exposure to small quantities of chemicals dust steam high-pressure water and high speed rotating equipment
Required to perform work in cramped spaces and/or high places
