Office Engineer II

Overview of Responsibilities

The O ce Engineer reports to the Sr. Project Manager and is responsible for assisting the project management team with managing the scope schedule and operational interfaces of all design and construction-related activities for the Renovation and Reconstruction Project. The Renovation and Reconstruction Project covers the full demolition and re-building of the headhouse and concourse as well as various enabling scopes to vacate the existing building.

The O ce Engineer supports the project management team by handling the administrative technical and coordination functions required to deliver construction projects e ciently and in compliance with contract requirements. This role is responsible for managing project documentation assisting with construction engineering tasks coordinating with contractors and design teams and ensuring timely communication among all project stakeholders. The O ce Engineer helps track progress maintain logs support cost and schedule controls and ensure that project records submittals RFIs and change orders are processed accurately and promptly.

  • Knowledge in design and construction contracting practices and methodologies
  • Knowledge and experience in the project design life cycle from Concept to Project De nition Book to Permit to Bulletins
  • Knowledge and experience in the project construction life cycle from Pre-Construction to estimating/buyout to phasing to implementation to Closeout
  • Maintaining an excellent working relationship with the design and construction professionals geared towards open communications and mutual problem solving in the best interest of the project and all other parties involved
  • Contributing to a high level of team morale through professionalism that re ects well on the project team external stakeholders and client/internal stakeholders

Essential Job Duties

  • Manage and maintain all project documentation including RFIs submittals change orders meeting minutes and daily reports.
  • Track log and monitor contractor submittals to ensure timely review and distribution to design teams and project stakeholders.
  • Prepare process and follow up on Requests for Information (RFIs) ensuring prompt communication of responses to all relevant parties.
  • Update and maintain RFI and submittal logs in PMWeb ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
  • Maintain organized hard-copy and electronic project les; oversee document and submittal management systems.
  • Work with contractors to ensure drawings and project documents are posted and updated in a timely manner.
  • Distribute documents submittals and RFIs for review; track review comments compile responses obtain management approval and issue formal responses to contractors.
  • Coordinate with contractors design teams inspectors and project managers to support clear and consistent information ow.
  • Assist in preparing construction meeting agendas presentations and action item logs.
  • Support eld operations by coordinating with eld engineers and superintendents to maintain alignment between project documentation and eld activities.
  • Ensure proper ling organization and archiving of all project records in accordance with client project standards.
  • Manipulate various electronic le formats to create exhibits graphics and supporting materials for meetings and presentations.
  • Perform additional project support duties as assigned including attending and documenting project meetings writing agendas and minutes expediting processes and maintaining expediting logs.
Qualifications

Minimum Education Level:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering Architecture Construction Management or other related technical eld required
  • Masters degree preferred

Professional Licenses & Certifications:

  • Licensed Engineer (Preferably by CA Board of Engineers) is preferred
  • Other Certifications may include AAAE LEED PMP PE and/or any other relevant Professional Licensure or Certification.

Minimum Years and Experience:

  • 10 years or more experience preferably on airport projects

Professional Experience Level/Other Quali cations

  • Experience working on large team for complex projects.
  • Experience with various delivery methods including Design-Bid-Build DesignCMAR and Design/Build
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations

Hardware/Software Knowledge

  • Pro cient in Microsoft O ce Suite and Bluebeam
  • Experience with Project Management Implementation Systems; ability to work in PM Web preferred

Compensation

This role is salaried/exempt with a base annual salary range of $105000.00 - $120000 and commensurate with

skill education experience and work location.

This role is bonus eligible after 6 months of employment.
