Job Summary
- Collaborates with healthcare team members to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Assesses patient and family needs initiating appropriate interventions.
- Plans and implements patient and family education.
- Collects and analyzes patient health data to determine diagnoses and care strategies.
- Develops and implements individualized plans of care.
- Promotes patient health and safety through evidence-based practices.
- Evaluates nursing practices against professional standards and regulations.
- Maintains competency through ongoing education and training.
- Provides leadership guidance and contributes to the professional development of peers.
- Integrates ethical principles and research findings into nursing practice.
- Ensures compliance with all hospital policies including those specific to stroke care.
- Participates in required stroke education and maintains stroke care competency.
- Demonstrates sound judgment patience and professional demeanor in stressful situations.
- Maintains confidentiality and exercises tact discretion and sensitivity.
- Works varied shifts including nights weekends and on-call as required.
- Performs physical tasks including lifting standing walking and fine motor activities.
- Exposed to bloodborne pathogens chemicals infectious diseases and emotionally challenging situations.
- Completes all required education and training per organizational and regulatory requirements.
Certifications/Requirements:
- Current Montana RN license.
- American Heart Association BLS (required).
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification within 6 months of hire.
- ACLS and PALS certifications within 8 months of hire.
- Willingness to practice modified primary nursing.
- Ability to work 36 hours/week (3x12hr shifts) primarily nights and weekends.
