Job Summary

Job Description:

AnOfficer for Purchase/Store in a steel pipes jobisresponsible for the acquisition of raw materials industrial consumables and spare parts as well as the management of inventory to ensure uninterrupted production. This role involves vendor management cost control and coordination with various internal departments.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Management:Identify evaluate and select reliable suppliers of raw materials (like steel plates coils) industrial consumables and spare parts. Negotiate contracts pricing and payment terms to secure favorable agreements and build long-term relationships.
Procurement Operations:Manage the full purchasing cycle including preparing and processing purchase orders (POs) tracking deliveries and resolving shipment issues.
Inventory & Store Management:Oversee the inward and outward movement storage and handling of materials. Maintain optimal stock levels (min/max) in the ERP system to prevent stockouts or excess inventory and conduct regular physical stock verification.
Cost Control & Analysis:Monitor market trends (e.g. LME rates for steel) and analyze costs to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities and achieve budget targets.
Internal Coordination:Collaborate closely with the production planning quality assurance logistics and finance teams to ensure material availability and quality meet operational needs and standards.
Documentation & Compliance:Maintain accurate records of all purchases invoices and contracts. Ensure all activities comply with company policies internal/statutory audits and relevant regulations (e.g. GST norms).

Essential Skills & Qualifications

Education:A Bachelors degree (Engineering or Commerce preferred) with a diploma or degree in Materials Management or Supply Chain Management being a plus.
Experience:Proven experience in a purchasing or stores role specifically within the steel metal pipe or heavy manufacturing industry.
Technical Skills:Proficiency in ERP software (such as SAP or Oracle) and MS Excel is crucial for data analysis and inventory management. Knowledge of relevant Indian Standards (IS standards) for materials may also be required.
Core Competencies:Strong negotiation communication analytical and problem-solving skills are essential for the role.
