Bachelors Degree Associates Degree or Diploma RN with Major: Registered Nurse.
Minimum of one (1) year of RN experience
Valid Registered Nursing License

Responsibilities:
Provides direct patient care including assessment triage and initial evaluation of surgical patients in clinic and peri-procedure settings.
Collects and documents patient assessment data (vital signs history symptoms) according to UAMS nursing standards.
Develops and implements individualized Plans of Care (POC) based on assessment findings clinician directives and patient needs.
Administers medications and treatments per physician orders and in compliance with the Arkansas Nurse Practice Act and institutional policies.
Coordinates patient care and follow-up with physicians surgeons specialists and other clinical staff to ensure seamless care transitions.
Monitors and evaluates patient progress toward health and recovery goals modifying care plans as needed.
Provides pre-operative and post-operative education including surgical prep instructions wound care pain management and activity restrictions.
Offers disease and procedure-specific education tailored to head and neck surgical patients (e.g. tracheostomy care flap monitoring swallowing function support).
Supports patients and families in understanding care plans and self-management after clinic appointments or minor procedures.
Works collaboratively with providers (surgeons nurse practitioners surgical techs) clinic staff and interdisciplinary teams.
Communicates care delivered through accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Reports care variances safety concerns and patient status changes through appropriate channels.
Assists with clinic workflows including patient intake coordinating appointments and scheduling follow-ups or diagnostic tests.
Participates in maintaining clinic standards and evidence-based practices helping refine processes aligned with UAMS nursing standards and ANA guidelines.
May perform other duties as assigned.
