Job Summary

The Program Manager - TPO Power is responsible for the IT infrastructure delivery for Avangrid Power including all Infrastructure services for IT functions. This role includes resource and project management organization to deliver IT services in the areas of Cloud OS Database Network Telecommunications and hardware infrastructure.

This role will be the main point of contact for IT service delivery for all Avangrid Power related aspects.

The Program Manager TPO Power reports into the Manager TPO Projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Main point of contact for Avangrid Power TPO (Technology Platforms and Operations) for all items related to the area including but not limited to incident management NERC CIP Compliance assurance service delivery specialized technical management budget management and operational excellence.

  • Main point of contact for IT Applications/COEs. Responsible to interface with the Business and IT Application Directors to gather TPO requirements and define activities projects and programs required for TPO provisioning.

  • Coordinate with TPO Managers day-to-day activities and project operations to ensure service delivery as defined previously with the Business and IT Power Applications directors.

  • Develop TPO service and technical delivery scopes to support business strategy aligning with Global objectives. Interface report and work with high management company stakeholders.

  • Lead operational objectives achievement by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing projects providing IT services; resolving problems; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing project changes.

  • Ensure project execution by controlling and monitoring project timeline budget scope risks and changes

  • Define frameworks for processes and procedures in accordance with company global standards and best practices to ensure consistency in projects execution.

  • Strategically review technical and business processes to drive continual improvement (service effectiveness and efficiency)

  • Develop quality assurance policies and procedures for the managed projects adhering to the requirements of standards as the North American Electric Reliability Corporation Critical Infrastructure Protection (NERC CIP) or those of the US Federal Agency National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)

  • Ensure the local enterprise has the capability to support infrastructure requirements in order to maintain high levels of service.

  • Avangrid Power TPO budget management and Procurement management for IT.

  • Coordinate with TPO managers.

  • Manage an annual budget of $10M combined capital and operational expenses.

  • Champion best practices in a high-volume dynamic environment.

  • Ensure the enterprise has the capability to support new technology and maintain high levels of service. Create a sustainable IT environment to facilitate growth while maintaining required regulatory compliance e.g. NERC CIP SOX others.

  • Act as TPM (technical project manager) when needed for small projects that do not require a dedicated TPM.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in telecommunications/computer information systems or a related field and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • Minimum 5 years experience in project/ program management.

  • Relevant experience with broad based experience in technology leadership management and/or other related areas.

  • Prior experience working in an IT Department in any capacity

  • Prior experience coordinating IT Projects.

  • Demonstrated history of exceptional customer service.

  • Strong history of managing complex efforts with demanding customers.

  • Working knowledge of the regulatory environment for utility companies including NERC CIP and SOX.

  • Strong technical background and understanding of server storage backup cloud network and telecommunication.

  • Proven experience in strategic project execution strategic planning risk management and change management while engaging and influencing various stakeholders at all levels across the company.

  • Strong commitment to personnel safety and IT security.

  • Working times could vary and might include starting early in order to meet with team members across Europe or later to meet with team members on the West Coast.

  • Travel within the US and to Europe could be required from time to time.

  • Knowledge of JIRA and Kanban
