Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher Assistant or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to support a K2 Autism program in an elementary school setting. This role primarily involves one-on-one support for a kindergarten student who demonstrates challenging behaviors within the classroom and school environment.
The ideal candidate will have experience with behavior management strong collaboration skills and a passion for supporting students with special needs.
Responsibilities
Provide direct support to students in a K2 Autism classroom
Deliver one-on-one assistance to a kindergarten student with challenging behaviors
Implement behavior intervention plans and positive behavior supports
Assist the special education teacher with instructional and classroom activities
Support students social emotional and academic development
Collect and document behavioral and progress data as required
Maintain a safe structured and supportive learning environment
Collaborate with teachers therapists and school-based staff
Adhere to all school policies and special education regulations
Qualifications
Prior experience working with students with autism or special needs preferred
Advanced Behavior Training required
RBT certification strongly preferred (or willingness to obtain)
Proven ability to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviors
Strong communication collaboration and documentation skills
Patient reliable and student-focused approach
Ability to meet all school district background and compliance requirements
