Job Summary

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in a technical related field from an accredited institution.
  • Two (2) years of experience in computer support or a related field.
  • Valid Florida drivers license.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree.
  • Four (4) years of experience in computer support or a related field.
  • Valid advanced industry certification in computer repair or equivalent.

Relevant work experience or education may be substituted to satisfy required qualifications.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Clear and concise oral and written communication skills; organizational and management skills.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard networking technologies procedures and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of pertinent regulations policies and procedures for the functional area of assignment.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA Public Records Sunshine Law FERPA and other laws/regulations related to student and employee privacy public information and records retention.
  • Knowledge of and experience with industry-standard equipment materials practices computers and applications.
  • Ability to assist and coordinate personnel in a manner conducive to full performance and high morale.
  • Ability to professionally and effectively respond to customer needs and requests for service or assistance.
  • Ability to decipher complete and maintain industry- and manufacturer-specific technical certifications.
  • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle up to and including large vans or (non-commercial) delivery trucks.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction or direct oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain troubleshoot repair and upgrade computer hardware and software.
  • Inspect diagnose repair and service a variety of computer systems and peripheral audio-visual telecommunications power backup and network equipment.
  • Contact vendors to order component parts file warranty claims and resolve issues.
  • Utilize a variety of electronic testing and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and repair problems.
  • Consult peer and senior department staff as necessary to resolve issues.
  • Document track resolve and report on problems and work orders using a web-based ticket management system.
  • Pick up equipment for repair and return to site when complete.
  • Prepare technical documentation reports and correspondence.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies.
  • Participate in special projects as required.
  • Respect the confidentiality of records and District information in accordance with accepted professional ethics state and federal laws and Board policy.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of information shared by high-level staff as necessary for the completion of duties.
  • Utilize common industry and organizational tools for project management technical support documentation and communication.
