The role
We are looking for a sixth form career mentor to help students achieve their potential by providing academic support advising on career and higher education options and guidance on independent study skills. Other responsibilities would include supervising study supporting careers events and liaising with industry links and visiting speakers as well as parents and the wider sixth form team to support students overall academic and personal development. This role will include some work outside of term time and occasionally outside of the school day.
The candidate
The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator with exceptional organisational skills. They will be able to demonstrate an understanding of education and the careers process and show a commitment to the personal and academic development of pupils inspiring and motivating them to achieve highly. They would ideally hold a Level 6 Diploma in Career Guidance and Development or be willing to work towards this qualification quickly and partly in their own time.
