Junior Aerodynamics Engineer

Technical Skills

Wind Tunnel Operations
- Understanding of Aerodynamics theory
- Understanding of experimental methods and analysis
- Experience with Wind Tunnel testing
Data Acquisition & Analysis Collect process and interpret test data accurately
- Prefer experience with National Instruments
Basic CFD Knowledge Understanding of computational fluid dynamics principles for collaboration with simulation teams
- Experience with Star CCM or Altair CFD preferred
Instrumentation & Sensors Familiarity with pressure taps load cells and flow measurement devices preferred
Mechanical Aptitude Ability to handle test rigs fixtures and troubleshoot/repair basic mechanical issues
Electronics -Basic aptitude of simple control electronics; steppers motors sensors Etc.
CAD Literacy Basic skills in CAD software for component visualization and test setup.
- Experience with Creo Preferred
Coding - Familiarity with below environments is preferred
- MATLAB Python or LabVIEW
- Arduino
Basic FEA Knowledge Solid understanding of structural mechanics and numerical methods to facilitate effective communication with the structural simulation team. Familiarity with Hypermesh or the Altair suite is a plus.
Problem-Solving Strong theoretical foundations and ability to apply analytical paper-and-pencil approaches. Skilled at breaking down complex technical challenges into manageable components.

Attention to Detail Maintain precision in measurements documentation and reporting.
Collaboration Work effectively with engineers and cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
Adaptability Quickly shift between wind tunnel and CFD-related tasks as priorities change.

Education and Experience

Masters degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent).
A Bachelors degree with strong relevant experience may also be considered.
Previous experience in the role is not mandatory though it will be valued.

PAY

Below is a summary of compensation elements for this role at the company if based in the following locations:
