Job Summary
Head Boys Basketball Coach
Southern Boone Middle School
Southern Boone Middle School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Head Boys Basketball Coach to lead our middle school basketball program. The Head Coach is responsible for developing a positive skill-focused and student-centered athletic experience that emphasizes teamwork sportsmanship and personal growth.
Responsibilities include:
- Planning organizing and leading all practices and games
- Teaching fundamental basketball skills and age-appropriate strategies
- Creating a positive team culture that supports sportsmanship effort and respect
- Supervising student-athletes during practices games and travel
- Communicating effectively with athletes families and school staff
- Managing equipment uniforms and practice facilities
- Supporting academic expectations and positive behavior of student-athletes
- Ensuring compliance with school district and MSHSAA policies
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of basketball fundamentals and middle schoollevel coaching strategies
- Ability to work effectively with middle school students
- Strong leadership organization and communication skills
- Previous coaching or playing experience preferred
- Must meet all district and MSHSAA coaching requirements
