The Road Freight Forwarder Operator is responsible for the end-to-end planning and execution of international and domestic road shipments.
Purpose of the role:
To manage carrier relationships optimise routes for cost and speed and ensure all documentation complies with international transit laws and customs regulations.
Duties will include:
Source and negotiate rates with hauliers and sub-contractors to ensure competitive pricing and optimal service levels.
Organize the movement of goods via road for both domestic and international shipments
Proactively manage internal and external suppliers to minimize the impact on the client.
Provide real-time tracking updates and act as the primary point of contact for inquiries and quotes.
Report trends and potential areas of growth to the Full Load Manager
Identify and secure the necessary customs documentation for every shipment distributing it to relevant stakeholders to prevent delays.
Provide all relevant documents as requested by all stakeholders of the shipment
Ensure every file is correctly costed and charged with appropriate references before completing invoicing within the companys required timeframes.
Maintain healthy working relationships with both Ziegler Branches and third-party suppliers
General administrative duties and tasks identified by management
Working with the team to ensure that customer service is always maintained
Engage with Full Load Manager to prepare for haulier review meetings
Communicate with all members of staff at all levels
Ensure all issued instructions are compliant with transport customs and environment regulations
Proactively report any issues you identify which directly or indirectly impacts our customers or company
To abide to the Compliance Policies and Procedures of the Company.
Working hours:
Monday to Friday: 9/5pm

Experience in European transport operations
Minimum 1 year working in a busy European transport environment
Good understanding Customs and industry related regulations
Strong verbal and written communicator
Ability to multitask in a busy environment
Would be desirable to have:
Familiarity with Transport Management Systems (TMS) and an understanding of customs requirements for road freight.
Knowledge of TACO Cabotage and Mobility Pack regulations
Full UK Driving License.
