Junior Accountant or Entry-Level Accountant supports the finance department by managing daily financial transactions reconciling bank accounts maintaining accurate general ledgers and assisting with month-end closing payroll and financial reporting. They ensure data accuracy manage accounts payable/receivable and help with compliance under supervision.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Transaction Recording: Posting journal entries processing invoices and updating the general ledger.
Reconciliation: Performing bank reconciliations and balancing financial records.
Accounts Payable/Receivable: Managing vendor payments issuing invoices and handling expense vouchers.
Financial Reporting Support: Assisting in preparing balance sheets income statements and monthly/yearly reports.
Compliance & Admin: Supporting tax preparation ensuring compliance with regulations and handling petty cash or payroll tasks.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field.
Software Proficiency: Strong knowledge of MS Excel and accounting software (e.g. Tally QuickBooks).
Core Competencies: Basic understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) high attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
Soft Skills: Good communication organizational skills and ability to work in a team.
Common Requirements:
02 years of experience is typically required often including internships or foundational knowledge of accounting practices.
Work experience as an Accountant. Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Hands-on experience with accounting software like FreshBooks and QuickBooks. Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables.
