Role title

Flight Operations Compliance and Support Officer (12 Months Fixed Term)

Your role

As a Flight Operations Compliance and Support Officer in the Flight Operations Department you will be responsible for the provision tracking and recording of documentation essential to the safe conduct of flight. They will ensure that all documentation is prepared and distributed accurately and in timely manner in compliance with regulatory and company requirements. The Flight Operations Department plays a key role in delivering Aer Lingus ambition by ensuring the highest standards of flight safety regulatory compliance and operational discipline across the network.


Your responsibilities as a Flight Operations Compliance and Support Officer will include

  • Assist in the preparation and implementation of the process of updating on board documentation and systems in accordance with their approved schedule (Flight Deck & Cabin Libraries).
  • Assist with ongoing Maintenance of Flight Operations and Regulatory Systems and Applications.
  • Assist with the management of documentation processes and procedures within Flight Operations.
  • Provide support for the deployment of documentation to the various flight operations electronic systems/iPad/EFB.
  • Prepare develop and deliver the introduction of new documentation systems applications and services into Flight Operations.
  • Assist in the maintenance of a full set of master manuals at all times (i.e. Airbus Quick Reference Handbook).
  • Assist in the maintenance/recording of all flight documentation (pre and post flight) and other publications as per regulatory and company requirements.
  • Assist in the verification of incoming invoices and authorising payments associated to documentation support and services
  • Assist in the initial set-up of Pilot issued iPads supporting systems and Apps. Provide users with on-going support / fault resolution.
  • Work in accordance with all Health and Safety procedures when operating within the confines of their own workplace the ramp airport hangars and within proximity of all Aer Lingus aircraft.
  • Maintain the onboard aircraft mobile phones including programming and device / battery replacements.
  • Assist in the preparation of compliance audit and inspection checklists.
  • Conduct audits and inspections under the supervision of Flight Operations Compliance.
  • Follow up to ensure closure of non-conformance issues and ensure the effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Prepare reports and statistical information as may be required in relation to operations and compliance issues.

Your qualifications and key criteria

We are looking for an individual with experience / qualifications in the following areas:

  • Complete project tasks as assigned by the Manager Flight Operations Compliance and Compliance Specialist.
  • Must be competent in the use of all Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Must be competent with Apple products and applications.
  • Proven ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Must have a basic understanding of EASA Air Ops Regulations and related requirements.
  • Proven interpersonal skills with ability to build and maintain relationships with people at all levels both internal and external.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise and work under pressure and to define timelines.
  • Clear analytical approach with attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
  • Excellent planning co-ordination monitoring and evaluation skills.
  • The ability to use own initiative while contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • Possess a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Flexible and adaptable with a positive attitude to change.
  • Good organisational skills to manage and maintain documentation systems processes and procedures.
  • A full clean driving license is desirable.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Eligible to live and work in the EU.
  • Holder of a current unrestricted worldwide passport.
  • Able to pass a strict airport security vetting procedure which includes a 5-year background check* or be in possession of a current airside pass for the airport this position is based in Dublin.
