Introduction to the job
Do you want to work on handson engineering challenges in an international environment As part of ASMLs European Upgrade Install & Relocation (UIR) team you will work on the newest EUV machines at customer sites across Europe. You will build install upgrade and relocate highly complex lithography systems from the ground up ensuring they meet specifications are delivered on time and exceed customer expectations.
The role starts with a oneyear international training program followed by field work as a UIR engineer at customer locations in Europe.
Role and responsibilities
Phase 1 Oneyear international training program
- Intensive hands-on and onthejob training on EUV systems.
- Training may take place in Europe the US and Asia including multiweek assignments.
- Objective: acquire the technical depth needed to work independently on EUV systems at customer sites.
Phase 2 UIR Engineer deployment
- Work at customer fabs across Europe (Ireland Belgium Germany Israel etc.).
- Participate in the full UIR endtoend process:
- Preparation: review lessons learned prepare the factory and materials ensure all conditions are ready before machine arrival.
- Hardware execution: disassemble install align and commission EUV system hardware; perform cabling water/gas/vacuum work; poweron and verify system functions.
- Recovery & qualification: calibrate test and troubleshoot the system; solve failures; run acceptance tests.
- Wrapup: complete documentation handover to the customer support team.
- Provide firstline troubleshooting support to Customer Support teams at local sites.
- Potentially support global UIR projects depending on workload.
- Share knowledge coach junior engineers and train customers in basic system use and maintenance.
- Document issues and route problems to second-line support when needed.
Education and experience
- Bachelor or Master in Mechanical Engineering Aerospace Engineering Electronics Physics Mechatronics or another technical field.
- Hands-on engineering affinity is strongly preferred.
- Must be legally authorized to access controlled technology under Export Administration Regulations.
Skills
- Excellent communication skills and strong English proficiency.

- Strong problem-solving ability combining analytical and handson skills.

Other information
Shift schedule:
- 12hour shift schedule (24/7) with attractive shift and overtime compensation.
Travel:
- Training year: >80% international travel.
- After training: travel depends on customer projects across Europe; possible assignments in Ireland Israel Germany Belgium Netherlands and occasionally Taiwan Korea USA.
This position requires access to controlled technology as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. 730 et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
