Job/Department Summary:
Under general administrative and medical direction of the Lead Physician and in accordance with established standardized procedures and protocols the Nurse Practitioner provides a wide range of primary health care services to eligible students. These include assessment diagnosis treatment and management of acute and chronic illnesses; preventive and health maintenance services; and health education and counseling. The Nurse Practitioner is a licensed health care practitioner whose scope of practice is established in writing by the supervising physician based on demonstrated competence education training and experience.
Required Education and Experience:
Masters degree or higher from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program required.
AND
Incumbents must be clinically competent in a medical specialty such as: family practice internal medicine womens health or primary care and must possess sufficient experience to independently perform the duties of a Nurse Practitioner within that specialty.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS: Possess (or ability to obtain by date of hire) and maintain the following:
Valid and current California license as a Registered Nurse and a BRN certificate evidencing that the individual is qualified to use the title of Nurse Practitioner as required by the California Board of Registered Nursing.
Valid and current BRN Furnishing certificate.
Valid and current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) number and certificate.
Basic Life Support (BLS)

CSU Classification Salary Range: $120564 (Step 1) - $175632 (Step 20) per year.
