The Administrative/Human Resources Assistant is responsible for maintaining a professional positive and welcoming front office environment and supporting with administrative functions for the organization and specifically Human Resources. This position requires proficiency in organizing multiple tasks and functions independently. As well as being highly detail oriented. The Administrative Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting The Arc of King Countys day-to-day operations. While supporting the agencys mission and vision for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Essential Functions
Office Administrative Support:
- Answer incoming general phone calls and emails and respond to inquiries and/or direct the calls.
- Process scan and distribute mail daily.
- Utilize a specialized bank scanner to deposit checks.
- Procure and replenish office materials and supplies such as printer supplies paper office supplies.
- Maintain office equipment by scheduling routine maintenance and calling for emergency service of leased machines (i.e. printers and postage).
- Process bulk mailings and deliver to post office.
- Schedule shared workstations meeting rooms and parking spot reservations.
- Basic care and organization of staff kitchen including refrigerator and keeping kitchen surfaces wiped down.
- Be the point of contact for building janitorial services.
- Maintain business renewals.
Human Resources Support:
- Participate in new hire onboarding of staff.
- Point of contact for walk in employment inquiries.
- Responsible for monthly renewal of DOH credentials for Supported Living Program (SLP) employees.
- Responsible for auditing and maintenance of I-9 documentation for compliance.
- Responsible for maintaining DSHS Background Checks including renewals.
- Responsible for reconciliation of all benefits invoices including auditing benefit deductions in payroll vs benefits platforms.
- Supporting in personnel record maintenance.

Physical and Other Requirements
- Ability to be productive and maintain prolonged attention in an open office environment
- Daily presence in the office during work week is required
- Ability to use fine motor skills continuously
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds as needed
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time
Salary /Benefits
The Administrative Assistant is a full-time hourly non-exempt position which pays $24 to $26 per hour and is benefits eligible.
QualificationsAny combination of education experience and measurable performance which demonstrates the capability to perform the duties of this position.
Minimum qualifications
- Ability to open office punctually at 9:00 am and close office at 4:00 pm
- Proficient in use of Outlook Word and Excel with experience using Microsoft Office Suite Publisher and SharePoint.
- Excellent organizational skills attention to detail interpersonal skills technologically proficient positive attitude and willingness to take on and learn new tasks.
- Willingness to take initiative to solve problems and bring concerns to supervisor as needed to foster an efficient positive and organized work environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge in administrative support work including but not limited to scheduling supporting senior managers drafting written materials data entry coordination of projects with multiple deadlines or working with multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate effectively about technical problems and solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals of diverse economic ethnic and social backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and positively with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
