Mater Pharmacy is seeking applications for Senior Pharmacists to join us in a permanent full-time or part-time role. Based predominantly at our Mater Hospital Springfield campus these roles will be part of a landmark moment in Queensland healthcare at Mater Hospital Springfield opening early 2026. As Maters first new public hospital in over 60 years this state of the art facility will meet the needs of the growing Greater Springfield region. With 174 public beds ICU maternity emergency and surgical services its set to care for over 200000 patients annually.
Mater Pharmacy will provide a clinical service to all inpatient areas and outpatient clinics as well as serving the local communitys health needs so this represents a fantastic opportunity to make a positive contribution to the health and wellbeing of this community and to contribute to a strong unified inter-professional Clinical Services team at Mater.
Salary range: $64.64 - $69.55 per hour (HP4) plus superannuation andaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15900access to many staff benefits!
What youll be doing
As a Senior Pharmacist you will deliver a high standard of pharmacy service across Mater Health providing expert clinical advice ensuring the safe and effective use of medicines and supporting the ongoing development of pharmacy practice. You will take a leadership role in quality improvement education and mentoring while contributing to service planning and multidisciplinary collaboration to optimise patient outcomes.

This role will be based primarily at our Springfield campus where the following clinical services will be offered:
As well as the Springfield team you will have the opportunity to be trained at and rotate to relevant areas of our tertiary referral hospitals at the South Brisbane campus which also have Coronary Care Unit Neonatal Intensive Care inpatient Cancer Care Neurosciences and various other general specialities. You will also engage with and be supported by all other Mater Pharmacy teams including Inventory Management Clinical Trials Medicines Information Community Services and the Production Unit.
Our service to the hospitals is required 365 days per year so the role will include a share of evening public holiday and weekend shifts as well as provision of an on-call service to all our facilities on a rostered basis.
