Its offerings include Softgel Liquid-Filled Hard Shell Liquid in Bottle Zydis ODT and a broad range of solid dose technologies across Rx OTC VMS and topical products.

Position Overview:

This person is expected to drive growth in their assigned territory and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to close deals.

The Business Development Director will report to a Regional Sales Director. This role is expected to drive new deals by identifying negotiating and closing opportunities across Catalents oral dose technology this role this person will be expected to:

Prospect for new business that aligns with capability and/or grow existing strategic accounts depending on territory and business line assignment Sign new business for growth. Maintain and grow current business accounts Support local and national tradeshows/events

The Role:

  • Lead business development efforts to expand CDMO partnerships with pharmaceutical biotech and/or consumer health companies.
  • Prospect and generate leads through cold calling networking and industry events.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with pharmaceutical biotech consumer health and other relevant companies in the industry.
  • Present and promote CDMO services to potential clients highlighting value propositions.
  • Partner with Commercial Operations and Legal to execute appropriate and negotiate complex development and supply agreements to close deals to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (product development project management manufacturing regulatory) to ensure client needs are met. Collaborate with VPBDs Global Account Directors and other Segment BD teams in the construction and execution of their strategic account plan(s) if applicable.
  • Stay informed about industry trends competitor activities and market developments.
  • Negotiate high-value contracts and close complex deals.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities and pipeline in CRM systems.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets (effectively utilizing Korn Ferry sales methodology) to identify qualify pursue and close new development opportunities (using Scotwork Negotiation Skills Methodology) within an assigned region (current customers and/or prospects) to achieve revenue and new business objectives.
  • Manage and grow key accounts ensuring long-term client satisfaction and retention
  • Present Catalents comprehensive network offerings and capabilities to customers and craft specific targeted solutions that meet customers manufacturing and development needs; Present Catalents broader capabilities knowledgeably and effectively with customers in order to generate cross-sell opportunities and craft value-added solutions for customers across technologies.
  • Provide business and overall relationship management support to existing development programs. Responsibilities may include negotiation of new development supply quotations support specific sites on business/commercial (where applicable) issues and support of R&D groups to structure proposals as programs move through various stages of development to commercialization.
  • Ensure compliance with reporting processes and tools and maintain open communication throughout the organization especially in regard to cross-site and cross-business unit customer efforts.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences trade shows and networking events.

The Candidate

  • Bachelors degree in science business administration or another related field preferred; Advanced scientific degree and/or Master of Business Administration / commercially orientated degree is advantageous but not essential.
  • Pharma Consumer Health industry experience required
  • 5 years of relevant experience in B2B sales Business Development or Project Management
  • Sales/business development experience in the contract pharmaceutical industry strongly preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of contract manufacturing and the pharmaceutical formulation and clinical development processes is a plus.
  • Small molecule and oral solid dose formulation experience is highly advantageous
  • Hunting mentality mandatory.
  • Proven ability to drive revenue growth and build lasting client relationships.
  • Excellent negotiation communication and leadership skills.
  • The ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time to meet with clients and attend industry events.
  • Excellent communication in English plus local language of territory (if applicable) and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with potential clients.
  • Strong negotiation and persuasion skills to drive successful deal closures.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales tools for managing leads contacts and sales activities.
  • High level of organization and attention to detail to effectively manage multiple client relationships simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated and target-driven mindset to achieve and exceed sales goals.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and contribute to a positive work culture.
