Are you ready to power the future with purpose At Hitachi Energy were searching for an innovative and detailfocused Senior Electrical R&D Engineer to join our LiquidFilled Distribution Transformers team. This is your chance to help shape the next generation of transformer technologyadvancing reliability sustainability and performance in power distribution worldwide.

In this role youll collaborate with a global network of experts turning forwardthinking concepts into cuttingedge prototypes. Youll have the freedom to explore new ideas solve complex design challenges and influence products that directly support a more sustainable energy future.

Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations procedures and guidelines.

How Youll Make an Impact

  • Contribute inventive electrical design ideas to R&D projects
  • Lead or support initiatives aligned with time cost and quality objectives
  • Coordinate prototype manufacturing and testing activities
  • Design and execute experiments to validate technical solutions
  • Document project progress and develop design rules from findings
  • Participate in intellectual property discussions and risk evaluations
  • Provide technical support to factories marketing teams and customers
  • Collaborate with global R&D peers to optimize electrical designs
  • Support costout initiatives and design portfolio development for the South Boston location

Your Background

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
  • 5 years of experience in electrical design ideally within transformers
  • R&D experience in a business or industrial environment is beneficial
  • Knowledge of magnetic dielectric or thermal design preferred
  • Familiarity with FEM or 2D circuitsimulation tools is advantageous
  • Strong communication skills and a creative solutionoriented mindset
