Maintenance Worker

The ideal candidate will be required to provide maintenance ground keeping project/renovation work and other work-related activities as necessary. About the position: This position is an on-call basis (Monday-Friday) from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Organize and perform day to - day maintenance of buildings and grounds; Prepare cost estimate & materials list for repairs maintain projects and order appropriate supplies; Make a schedule of the jobs to be carried out and to ensure the schedule is adhered to routine and preventative maintenance.

Duties:
Must be able to follow a Daily Weekly Monthly Seasonal check list;
Performing minor repairs and maintains mechanical equipment (e.g.; pumps fans motors boiler and associated equipment kitchen/laundry/housekeeping equipment etc.)
Operating and maintaining ventilation units and boilers/accessory equipment where required.
Ensuring the removal of snow and ice from all sidewalks stairs ramps entrances and exits;
Cleaning work area(s) and disposing of waste (e.g.: bio hazardous) as per environmental polices;
Performing preventative maintenance;
Performing minor repairs and adjustments to building systems;
Repairing and maintaining ground equipment;

Qualifications: Minimum Grade 10; WHMIS & Certified First Aide required or willing to obtain; Knowledge in furnace repair minor maintenance and repair of small appliances; Basic Plumbing Electrical Carpentry and Painting experience is an asset; Experience and knowledge with Computers and Office equipment is an asset; Experience working with First Nations Communities is an asset; Understanding/Speaking Cree is an asset; Must possess a valid Class 5 drivers license.
