About the role:

Reporting to the Senior Engineering Supervisor the Mining Engineer or Senior MiningEngineeris responsible fordeveloping andoptimizingstrategiclong-rangeplans tosustain and extend the Life of Mine at Line Creek Operations. The role involvesexecuting all aspects of long-range planningincluding:pit spoil and haul road designoptimizations life of mine schedules strategic evaluations all while consideringpotential impacts to sustainable development. This role is an excellent opportunity foran engineer looking to make a positive impact on the business.

In this role you will:

Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Engineers-in-Training as part of a collaborative team environment
Execute on a wide range of mine planning including pit spoilhaulageandclosure design while considering potential sustainable development impacts
Perform iterative production scheduling from KPI analysis to estimated coalblending results
Influence strong site decision making through detailed data analysis and soundmining practices
Perform economic evaluations long range capital consolidation productivityanalyses strategic planning assessments and peer reviews
Communicate mine development projects to the permitting groups within thebusiness developing mine permit applications and amendmentsand ensure mine plans are followingpermitcompliance
Participate in the development of annual reserves and resource reporting

Requirements:

Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering or related field or equivalentcombination of education and experience
Minimum five years of experience in mine planning
Registered or eligible to register with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC) as a Professional Engineer
Proficiencyin mine scheduling software such as XPAC Solutions and minedesign software such asMinesight3D
Solid understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite
Motivated self-starter able to work under minimal supervision
Strong writtenverbaland interpersonal communication skills
Valid Class 5 Drivers License or equivalent

$106000 - $131000 a year

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidates relevant experience skills and competencies and considers internal equity.
