POSITION: Varsity Boys Volleyball Assistant Coach

LOCATION: Kenowa Hills High School

Assignment/Responsibility

Kenowa Hills Public Schools is seeking a dynamic Assistant Coach to help lead and elevate our Boys Varsity Volleyball program. Supported by an outstanding Boosters Program and a sports-minded community our ideal candidate is a mentor who can prepare student-athletes socially mentally and physically for the challenges of competitive play. The coach must possess the ability to work collaboratively with the coaching staff and maintain open professional communication with administration and the community.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent (required).

• Experience: Deep knowledge of volleyball mechanics rotations and MHSAA rules. Proven experience in coaching or high-level competitive play is preferred.

• Leadership: Ability to maintain a high standard of conduct and discipline while serving as a positive professional role model.

• Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with athletes parents and staff.

• Ethics: Possess strong personal ethics and a commitment to student-athlete safety.

• Active Presence: This is a site-based position requiring physical presence at gymnasiums and athletic facilities. It is not eligible for remote work.

• Mobility & Stamina: The employee is frequently required to stand for long periods move quickly across court surfaces and maintain high energy levels during practices and matches.

• Physical Instruction: The coach must be able to demonstrate sport-specific techniques (e.g. hitting passing rotations) and lead active drills. This includes frequent bending twisting reaching and squatting.

• Lifting: Regularly required to lift move or set up athletic equipment (nets ball carts standards) weighing up to 40 lbs.

• Sensory Requirements: Must be able to project their voice over loud gymnasium noise and possess the visual acuity to monitor player safety and game action across the court.

• Schedule: Requires flexibility to work evening practices and games as well as occasional weekend tournaments. Seasonal requirements outside the standard contractual year (such as summer evaluations) are coordinated in advance and compensated via flex time or extra duty pay.

Note to New Employees

Pursuant to PA 131 the selected candidate must receive clearance from the Michigan State Police Department prior to the offer of employment. The candidate is responsible for the background check fee.
