Peer Recovery Workers provide an understanding of the experience of living with a mental health challenge and assist people to connect feel validated and supported to strive for the recovery outcomes they hope to achieve. This is a casual position located at Safe Haven part of the Mental Health and Wellness department at Ruah. Safe Haven provides a safe space for individuals experiencing emotional / mental health challenges or distress who do not require care from the Emergency Department but are seeking Peer support. The Peer Workers work alongside clinician(s) employed by Royal Perth to triage and welcome individuals to the space provide peer interventions in one to one and group setting and create pathways for ongoing community based support. The service is open Friday Saturday and Sunday with hours of work typically ranging between 2pm-8:30pm.
