THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a SECURITY ASSISTANT (TITLE 32) Position Description Number D2478000 and is part of the IL DCSOPS National Guard.
As a SECURITY ASSISTANT (TITLE 32) GS-0086-5/6/7 you will serve as a Security Assistant responsible for assisting in the personnel security clearances process and supporting an Administrator/Adjudicator with suitability adjudications /determinations for the fitness and suitability on individuals for entry and retention in sensitive and non-sensitive positions required by Army.

AREAS OF CONSIDERATION: The areas of consideration for this position Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S. Code 709) will be in the following manner and sequence:
Military Grades: Must be rank of SPC not to exceed rank of SSG.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: MUST possess the experience education and/or training which involves clerical or administrative work which indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-07 Level - MUST possess the specialized experience education or training which includes at least 12 months equivalent to the GS-06 Level performing clerical or administrative duties in an office environment; have experience performing office functions using computers and automation systems; experience working independently and setting priorities with very little supervisory control. GS-06 Level - MUST possess the specialized experience education or training which includes at least 12 months equivalent to the GS-05 Level in the performance of clerical or administrative duties which demonstrates a working knowledge of general office routines and functions; experience using computers and automation systems. GS-05 Level - MUST possess the specialized experience education or training which must have at least 12 months equivalent to the GS-04 Level in the performance of clerical or administrative duties which demonstrates a working knowledge of general office routines and functions.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community student social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies knowledge and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience.

If you are using Education to qualify for this position Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e. beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience for GS-5 positions.
