This position is located at Bureau of Engraving and Printing within the Security Division WCF. As a Police Officer you will be
you will be responsible for the enforcement of the Federal State and local laws relating to the protection of human life including the preservation of the civil rights of individuals.
The following are the duties of this position at the TR-08. If you are selected at a lower grade level you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
The experience may have been gained in either the public private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year and indicate number of hours worked per week on your résumé.
Key Requirements:You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Minimum Age Requirement: Must be at least 21 Years of Age.
AND
Specialized Experience:
For the TR-6 you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-4 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for the TR-6 is defined as:
- Experience that provided knowledge of a body of basic laws and regulations law enforcement operations practices and techniques and involved responsibility for maintaining order and protecting life and property. Creditable specialized experience may have been gained in work on a police force; through service as a military police officer; in work providing visitor protection and law enforcement in parks forests or other natural resource or recreational environments; in performing criminal investigative duties; or in other work that provided the required knowledge and skills.
OR
You may substitute education for general or specialized experience as follows: A 4-year course of study leading to a bachelors degree in Police Science or a comparable degree program related to the work of the position.
OR
You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. A combination of specialized experience and education in a Police Science or a comparable degree program related to the work of the position.
* Note: Successful completion of a Federal State county or municipal police academy or comparable training course that included at least 40 classroom hours of instruction in police department procedures and methods and local law and regulations may be substituted for a maximum of 3 months of specialized experience.
In addition to the above requirements you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement if applicable: For the TR-6 you must have been at the GS-4level for 52 weeks.
