Job Summary

Summary

This position is in the Office of Special Programs High Threat Programs Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS/HTP/SP). You willserve as a Security Specialist (Special Operations Coordinator SOC) and the Bureausprimary liaison with the United States Special Operations Commands (USSOCOM) Integrated SurveyProgram (ISP).


Duties

  • Coordinates the prioritization of approvals for and conduct of surveys of U.S. diplomatic facilities overseas.
  • Advises on modifications to the programs survey methodology scope collection mechanisms and methods of dissemination.
  • Liaises between stakeholders to manage share and streamline information training and resources related to contingency planning.
  • Provides technical support to management to ensure timely appropriate and effective military assistance during heightened hostilities crises and evacuations at high threat overseas posts.
  • Facilitates diplomatic passport issuance ensuring compliance with Department policies and procedures pertaining to the issuance and control of Diplomatic Passports.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.

    NOTE: Applicants must meet time-in-grade and time after competitive appointment requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

    Time-In-Grade Requirements: Federal applicants must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade to satisfy time-in-grade restrictions per 5CFR 300 Subpart F.

    Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

    • Experience assessingasset depth and capability capacity to develop surveys to improve mitigation outcomes.
    • Experience analyzing data to recommend changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Experience coordinating efforts with multiple stakeholders.

    There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-13 position.
