Duty Location: Folsom California; Sacramento California; Santa Nella California
Serves as a Safety and Occupational Health Specialist for the Regional Construction Office. Major duties include:
You must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.

In order to be rated as qualified for this position the HR Office must be able to determine that you meet the specialized experience requirement - this information must be clearly supported in the resume.
To qualify at the GS-9 you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-7 level in federal service having demonstrated experience performing periodic onsite surveys; preparing or revising safety instructions and guidelines; advising personnel of appropriate safety and occupational health measures; investigating mishaps obtaining statements from witnesses; recording circumstances of mishaps and extent of injuries; preparing final report(s) of findings. You could otherwise qualify on the basis of Education having a Masters or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree from an accredited college or university with a major field of study in safety or occupational health fields or other related fields such as safety occupational health industrial hygiene occupational medicine toxicology public health mathematics physics chemistry biological sciences engineering and/or industrial psychology OR LL.B. OR J.D. if related. You may combine specialized experience and education to meet the minimum qualifications.
To qualify at the GS-11 you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-9 level in federal service having demonstrated experience conducting safety inspections at construction project sites pertaining to heavy construction and equipment operations; identifying and controlling hazardous and unsafe construction operations/construction site conditions; ensuring compliance with safety and occupational health policies and regulations; investigating construction accidents resolving safety hazards with field engineers construction representatives and construction contractors. You could otherwise qualify on the basis of Education having a PH.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree from an accredited college or university with a major field of study in safety or occupational health fields or other related fields such as safety occupational health industrial hygiene occupational medicine toxicology public health mathematics physics chemistry biological sciences engineering and/or industrial OR LL.M. if related. You may combine specialized experience and education to meet the minimum qualifications.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community student social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies knowledge and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience.

Foreign Education: To receive credit for education completed outside the United States you must show proof that the education has been submitted to a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign educational credentials and such education has been deemed at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education programs.
