Description

The Hennepin County Attorneys Office is seeking a Victim Services Manager to provide leadership and oversee staff in the Victim Witness division. The Victim Witness division provides services to crime victims in a humane safe and respectful environment. Services include advocacy support safety plans and referrals for victims of crime as their cases move through the criminal justice process.

Location and hours:
This position is hybrid and will be performed both on-site at the Hennepin County Government Center in downtown Minneapolis at 300 South 6th Street Minneapolis MN 55487 and remote as job duties require. Work hours will be Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. While this position is designated as hybrid based on current requirements hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin.

In this position you will:
  • Plan coordinate and evaluate the work and performance of assigned professional legal staff to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Lead and manage teams by selecting training and mentoring staff; overseeing disciplinary processes; and evaluating the performance of subordinate managers supervisors and line staff.
  • Develop program goals and objectives that align with the County Attorneys Office mission vision and strategic goals.
  • Direct budget development and resource allocation for programs and activities to ensure efficient operations.
  • Establish policies procedures and priorities within the work unit consistent with office and divisional objectives.
  • Organize and coordinate multiple programs activities to meet operational and strategic goals.
  • Oversee strategic planning and program evaluation to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with organizational objectives.

Need to have:
  • One of the following:
    • Bachelors degree or higher in business administration or other field appropriate to the position and five years or more of experience in the planning and administration of organizational operations or programs.
    • Nine or more years of experience in the planning and administration of organizational operations or programs.
Nice to have:
  • Experience:
    • Managing leaders across divisions/teams.
    • Working in a victim witness setting.
    • Utilizing community resources and partnerships to support crime victims or victims of domestic abuse.
  • Knowledge of the dynamics of various forms of victimization the criminal justice system counseling techniques and available system and community resources.
  • Skill in promoting the interests of victims with attorneys criminal justice personnel and community resources.
  • Ability to:
    • Analyze problems identify alternative solutions and project both intended and unintended consequences of proposed actions.
    • Manage crisis intervention and interpret and apply policies rules and procedures.
    • Establish effective working relationships with all levels of staff victims/witnesses and community agencies.
    • Manage multiple projects while being responsive to immediate unexpected demands.
    • Apply diversity equity and inclusion best practices in collaboration with staff partners and those we serve.
    • Foster an environment that recognizes and respects differences and provides culturally responsive services.
