RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a vital member of our Early Childhood Education (ECE) Team the Substitute cultivates strong connections with children and collaborates closely with fellow teachers. Working alongside the ECE Manager and Coordinator they ensure the smooth daily operations of the program prioritizing safety health and development tailored to each child. Following best practices the ECE Substitute adheres to Adelante Mujeres state Head Start and Oregon Childcare Division standards as well as Hillsboro School District policies. We seek a passionate candidate about our vision mission and experience in working with young children. The ECE Substitute reports to the ECE Coordinator.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintains a well-managed child-oriented learning environment which is safe healthy interesting attractive and responsive to the social/emotional physical cognitive and language development of each child
Promotes quality childcare services for the benefit of children and families
Maintains confidence and protects program operations
Maintains positive team relations
Ensures equipment and supply inventory maintenance
Provides emergency services as a Mandatory First Responder

QUALIFICATIONS:

A passionate commitment to the goals and mission of Adelante Mujeres and support for immigrant and BIPOC communities
High School Diploma or GED
6 months experience teaching children ages 0-5 years of age

Preferred Qualifications:

Bilingual in English & Spanish preferred
Prior experience working with low-income Latino families
Demonstrated ability to implement and enhance curricula

Additional Requirements:

Complete and be able to pass a Criminal Background Registry (CBR)
Certification or Accreditation: CPR/First Aid Certification and Food Handler Certification within first 30 days of employment
Online trainings: current Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect (RRCAN) Safe Sleep and Introduction to Child Care Health and Safety (ICCHS)
SALARY & BENEFITS:
- Pay range: $22.25 per hour
- Classification: On call - hours will vary based on program needs
- Benefits: Sick Time: accrued at 1 hour per 30 hours worked Paid Holidays: prorated based on hours worked
