UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Requires travel; must provide own transportation; exposed to disaster sites must be available for weekend & after normal hour duty work will require absence from home for extended period of time during disaster & emergency must be able to respond to disasters 24 hours a day 7 days a week except on approved vacation times; Exposed to dirt & debris; exposed to impacted areas (i.e. flood hazardous material spills blizzard riot tornado devastation) which may also be bio-hazard areas (e.g. tetanus hepatitis).

What Youll Do as a Disaster Services Consultant 2
Provides comprehensive technical guidance & assistance in prepared-ness training & exercise based on an assessment of program needs;
Assists in development & implementation of a progressive training & exercise plan based on review of the jurisdictions emergency operations plan;
Provides training coordination for counties and state partners regarding emergency management curriculum (e.g. administers training & exercise programs coordinates with field staff & other sections to assist localities in development of training & exercise criteria programs & training goals; handles training logistics);
Coordinates with local state & federal officials & EMA to ensure exercises are conducted in accordance with established standards guidelines & procedures so that uniformity safety & quality are achieved on a statewide basis & to ensure that exercise & training courses are designed and delivered appropriately;
Plans schedules & conducts training & exercise programs (e.g. schedules employees to attend sessions; schedules instructors to conduct sessions; prepares materials & teaches sessions; conducts workshop re-views & revises training materials);

OPTION 1:
2 yrs. trg. or 2 yrs. emergency management public or business administration;
