Job Summary

Position: Mechanic II

FLSA: Hourly non-exempt

Full Time: 40 hour per week

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma or equivalent.
More than two years experience or professional training.
Must use initiative and judgment in performing job and has responsibility for some equipment tools etc.
Interacts daily with fellow workers.
Has or is able to obtain Arizona bus driver certification.
Able to lift at least 50 pounds.

REPORTS TO: Transportation Supervisor

JOB GOAL: To provide skilled support services to ensure the safe and efficient operation of school district vehicles.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Repair and maintains vehicles.
Maintain vehicle repair and maintenance records.
Maintain tools parts and equipment inventory.
Perform emergency road repairs.
Keep work area clean and orderly.
Notify the supervisor of all unusual problems and concerns affecting transportation
Participate in various training sessions to upgrade related skills.
Serve as substitute bus driver as needed.
Perform other related duties assigned.
