This National Guard position is for a ARCHITECT/ENGINEER (Title 32) Position Description Number Dand is part of the IL 182 AW National Guard.
As an ARCHITECT/ENGINEER (Title 32) GSyou will perform planning development necessary to accomplish architecture and engineering functions for programs essential to state Air National Guard daily operations training and readiness missions.

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: The areas of consideration for this position Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S. Code 709) will be in the following manner and sequence:
Military Grades: Officer Only - May be a commissioning opportunity - May not exceed the rank of 2d Lt.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS: MUST posses one of the following
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-12 Level - MUST possess at least one year of experience equivalent to the lower grade level in the Federal service in order to be considered for this position. This experience must include: Applying professional architectural knowledge to designdevelop and evaluate building projects or major facilities. Preparing detailed drawings specifications and cost estimates and reviewing plans for compliance with codes and regulations. Providing authoritative advice and guidance on architectural standards criteria and technical with engineers contractors and other professionals to resolve complex design and construction problems. Reviewing and evaluating completed work for technical adequacy safety and regulatory compliance.
SPECIALIZED SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE: MUST possess experience in managing the function of work to be performed; Experience that includes leading directing and assigning work of personnel.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community student social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies knowledge and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience.
