Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Demonstrating experience performing duties and providing analysis related to production control project management or a similar role in a shipyard or other heavy industrial environment. 2) Performing supervisory duties with responsibilities for direct oversight performance management and mentoring of subordinate staff. 3) Serving as a primary point of contact and coordinating between multiple stakeholders such as government agencies contractors and military commands. 4) Performing duties related to ship overhaul and repair processes including work specification items and quality assurance. 5) Utilizing scheduling tools and techniques like Gantt charts and PERT/CPM analysis. 6) Performing duties related to historically accurate ship restoration rigging methods and compliance with preservation standards. 7) Identifying and resolving issues related to schedules production quality and resources.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. professional philanthropic religious spiritual community student social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies knowledge and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will serve as a Production Controller in the Maintenance and Repair Department of the Naval History and Heritage Command Detachment Boston MA. The Department is responsible for performing maintenance and repair work on USS Constitution Old Ironsides an actively commissioned 18th Century ship to preserve the ship in its optimum state of safety sound condition and appearance. This is a unique opportunity to learn and practice a historical tradecraft. The duty station is Boston MA.
This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
