About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Transport Delivery Manager to support the efficient delivery of transport infrastructure projects across the city. Working closely with the Head of Transport Projects and Head of Major Transport Projects you will manage complex programmes delivered by the Council Combined Authority and developers ensuring schemes are delivered safely compliantly and to value-for-money principles.

This is a high-impact role combining technical expertise programme management and stakeholder engagement within a politically sensitive environment.

What Youll Be Doing

  • Lead the development and delivery of transport projects and programmes ensuring compliance with budgets contracts and governance requirements.
  • Manage financial resources risk and value-for-money considerations across multiple schemes.
  • Provide technical and professional advice proposing practical solutions aligned to standards legal agreements and policy priorities.
  • Manage project teams consultants and fee-based work ensuring quality performance and deadlines are met.
  • Lead public and stakeholder consultation activity representing the Council effectively with Members partners and communities.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation CDM regulations equality duties and quality management systems.
  • Drive continuous improvement in operational practices systems and procedures to improve efficiency and control costs.

About You

You will be a confident transport professional with strong technical credibility leadership capability and experience delivering infrastructure projects in complex environments.

You Will Have:

  • Senior-level experience delivering transport infrastructure projects and programmes.
  • Strong knowledge of contract management governance risk and value-for-money principles.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams budgets and competing priorities.
  • Proven ability to engage effectively with Members developers stakeholders and the public.
  • Experience applying health & safety CDM and equality requirements in project delivery.
  • Ability to analyse problems re-prioritise activity and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Chartered Engineer status (or equivalent professional qualification/experience) and commitment to CPD.
