Job Summary
The Senior Accountant will serve as the primary staff responsible for reviewing reimbursement draw requests submitted by County departments for the American Recovery Plan Act (ARPA). This role involves reviewing costs claimed against executed contracts on a sample basis and ensuring compliance with federal state and contract requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Review reimbursement draw requests for ARPA funding submitted by County departments
Review and compare contract terms to approved projects for consistency
Reconcile costs to COMPASS (SAP) to ensure costs have been incurred and payments received
Ensure compliance with U.S. Treasury rules and guidelines Federal OMB guidelines and contract terms
Assist the Accounting Manager with compiling federal expenditures for SEFA reporting
Act as a liaison for potential audits related to the ARPA program
Assist in subrecipient monitoring in accordance with applicable federal requirements
Perform accounting-related duties as identified during normal operations
Required Skills & Knowledge
All skills and knowledge expected of an Accountant
Proven knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and practices including cost accounting
Demonstrated ability to assemble analyze and prepare reports and statements involving complex financial data
Accounts payable and accounts receivable experience may require familiarity with automated systems
Experience Required
2-4 years of accounting experience
Required Skills:
BA/BS Accounting Finance or Business Administration Accounts payable / receivable may require experience with an automated system.
