Job Summary

Job Summary: Rice Memorial High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated educator to serve as a combined Special Educator and Transition Support Specialist. The ideal candidate will provide special education and intervention support for all students on learning plans ensuring individualized data-driven instruction that meets a wide range of learning addition to case management and direct services this educator will play a key role in supporting incoming ninth-grade and transfer students as they transition to Rice helping them build essential academic organizational and self-advocacy skills. This full-time position requires a collaborative mindset strong communication skills and a deep commitment to creating an inclusive supportive environment where every student can Responsibilities:Special Education:Develop implement and monitor Rice Learning Plans tailored to students specific needs and goals based on IEPs 504s or other documented needsProvide professional development on supporting diverse learners for teachers and staffProvide differentiated instruction and accommodations in one-on-one small group and classroom settings to support students with diverse learning student progress and adjust instructional strategies as with classroom teachers school counselors and other specialists to ensure students success across the with the 9th grade and transfer transition team on supporting new students Collaborate with LEA and families on SPED referrals meetings data collection and plan implementationMaintain accurate records and documentation of student progress services provided and communication with Support SpecialistThe Transition Support Specialist supports incoming ninth grade and transfer students as they adjust to high school by providing structured academic social and transitional support. This role focuses on building strong student and parent relationships promoting engagement and ensuring a successful start to orientation and transition activities to help students understand school routines and small-group sessions focused on organization time management and with ninth-grade teachers to identify at-risk students and provide early structured study sessions and access to academic communication with families and offer workshops on high school transitionBuild partnerships with community organizations to expand student a positive inclusive school culture that fosters connection and position requires strong communication organization and a commitment to student success during the critical freshman year.
