Job Summary

CNC Mill Operator
Department: KDM Retail
Reports to: Manager of KDM Retail
FLSA: Non Exempt
Position Summary
The CNC Operator is responsible for supplying the cabinet builders with accurate and quality parts while maintaining the established production schedule. Operators must be able to work off drawings and verbal communication to create and edit existing programs with a variety of materials.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The CNC Operator is primarily yet not exclusively responsible and accountable for the following:
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints and fixture drawings
  • Performing equipment set up calibration and maintenance of the router.
  • Ensuring quality parts that adhere to industry tolerance standards
  • Adhering to all PPE Safety 6S and Quality Control Standards
  • Completing required administrative duties to include clocking into jobs in E32
  • Following all department SOPs
  • Communicating effectively with co-workers and Management
  • Performing and completing all other work duties as assigned to include helping in other departments as needed
Minimum Qualifications (Education Experience Skills)
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to count add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions from both written and oral communications.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standard situations.
Experience in operating a CNC as it relates to woodworking.
Experience using Excel and Microsoft Windows.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision and ability to adjust focus.
