JOB TITLE:Asset Mover - Distribution Services Department

REPORT TO:Fixed Asset Specialist

WAGE/HOUR STATUS:Nonexempt

PAY GRADE:AUX 3

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The Asset Mover Position is responsible for the proper and safe transfer of assets within the district.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • High School graduate or GED
  • Appropriate valid Texas drivers license
  • Experience pulling trailers
  • Forklift experience

Preferred:

  • 3years of experience in a related field preferred

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of managing assets
  • Knowledge of safety regarding the movement of heavy items
  • Ability to haul material using trailers and to operate a forklift
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions diagrams and manufacturers manuals
  • Ability to learn and perform tasks in all skilled areas
  • Knowledge of potential hazards and necessary safety precautions involved in use of equipment required by the job
  • Ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships
  • Customer Service Oriented displaying a positive attitude

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Duties:

Reporting directly to the Fixed Asset Specialist the Asset Mover performs the following duties:

  • Complete a variety of work orders associated with moving and transferring district assets and materials. Assists in moving equipment and/or furniture from facility to facility.
  • Assists in erection/assembly of district purchased assets
  • Keeps vehicle supplied with tools and materials and maintains a clean vehicle.
  • Follows all safety regulations related to any and all trade areas.
    • Performs other general Distribution Services duties as assigned by supervisor including but not limited to:
      • Delivery and staging of furniture and other assets
      • Moving furniture technology vehicles equipment and other assets
      • Responding to requests for emergency or crisis situations in the District.
  • Assist with set up and take down of special events
  • Responsible for the timely transfer of supplies equipment and devices forthe Special Education Department.
  • Assist with required Asset Transfer documentation.
  • Collaborate with the Fixed Asset Custodian and provide support at the FixedAsset Warehouse as needed.
  • Assist with auction-related activities
  • Collaborate with the Fixed Asset Specialist regarding the transfer of thedistricts electronic recycling.
  • Assist with verifying/scanning transferred assets in the Asset ManagementSystem.
  • Communicate with internal and external customers regarding material transferrequirements.
  • Assist the Fixed Asset Specialist with Asset Management Projects as needed.

Essential Functions:

Requires:

  • Ability to perform tasks of bending twisting reaching pushing pulling standing kneeling climbing and walking.
  • Normal mobility of fingers hands wrists arms neck back waist legs knees and ankles.
  • Ability to bend over at the waist and twist entire trunk from side to side.
  • Ability to reach above the head and in front of the body at least 24 inches.
  • Ability to push and pull items up to 150 pounds.
  • Ability to lift material up to 50 pounds and carry while walking 50 pounds for distances up to 20 feet.
  • Ability to stoop and kneel up to 30 times per 8 hour work shift.
  • Ability to walk at a pace necessary to complete work schedule.
  • Ability to grip small hand tools and equipment with enough strength to use them in the manner intended.
  • Ability to drive while pulling an open and enclosed trailer.
  • Ability to drive and maneuver a forklift.
  • Ability to use pallet jacks and other moving equipment.

  • Ability to distinguish between colors

Work Environment:

  • Mostly outside work
  • Work inside with and without air conditioning depending on the facility requirements.
  • Work alone as well as with team members.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Back support belts should be worn when lifting.

Required Training:

  • 1st day orientation Proper Lifting Techniques
  • Monthly required safety customer service and leadership training
  • 3-day hands-on training completing various tasks and ongoing Staff Development.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

The usual and customary methods of performing this job require the following: ability to work in a fast-paced high-intensity work environment efficiently and effectively with frequent interruptions. Job may require prolonged periods of time sitting reaching and repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer. Overtime is required as necessary.
