This is an anticipated temporary long term substitute position for a Kindergarten Teacher. The tentative start is in August 2026 and will go through the end of November 2026. NH Elementary Education Certification is Duties and Responsibilities Except as specifically noted the following functions are considered essential to this position:Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of each student and encourages mutual respect and effective lessons that employ a variety of 21st century learning instructional strategies that when implemented strives to meet the needs and capabilities of each student based on assessment data in your classroom. Follows district curriculum goals and objectives to write appropriate lesson plans designed to meet the learning needs of each student in your a variety of audio visual manipulative materials and technology integration and other resources to support the delivery of the districts how students learn and develop and provides opportunities that support their growth in cognitive linguistic creative social moral emotional and physical possible causes of student behavior and addresses the behavior constructively following school board policy and the school procedures. Assesses students for the purpose of providing feedback to the teacher students parents administration regarding students growth meeting expectations and data from standardized tests and a variety of formative and summative assessment to drive maximum supervision of assigned students at all times and encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom to implement by instruction and action the Lafayette Regional School Districts philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives. Makes referrals to district specialists about students who exhibit signs of educational delays or handicapping accommodations and modifications as listed on Individual Education Plans (IEP) and 504 up-to-date accurate complete and correct records as required by law district policy and administration regulation. Participates in required meetings (e.g. parent conferences in-service training staff meetings) for the purpose of receiving and/or providing information and/or meeting credential in curriculum construction and revision and cooperates with other members of the staff in planning instructional goals objectives and shares best instructional to the quality positive culture and effectiveness of the school and district by working individually and/or collaboratively with others. Maintains open lines of communication with parents in order to provide parents with information that will serve the best interests of as a team member on special education IEP team meetings as requested and to implement individual education plans as required by state certification through building principal approved professional development district policies procedures goals and approved curriculum for content areas. Follows all federal state and school district policies laws and procedures that pertain to public education.
