The opportunity we have available
TheVehicle Safety Operations Branch is Australias national vehicle standards regulator working to enhance vehicle safety emissions control and anti-theft protection to ensure the Australian vehicle fleet is safe and efficient. The Application Assessment and Approval section is responsible for regulating the Road Vehicle Standards Act 2018 (RVSA) by assessing applications to ensure the criteria for approval are met.
We are seeking an APS 6 General Assessment Team Leader to join our team providing a critical leadership role in supporting businesses and individuals to provide road vehicles to the Australian market. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead a team of seven general assessors ensuring the timely and accurate assessment of applications in accordance with the legislative framework.
The tasks of the APS 6 Team Leader in their day-to-day work can include:
The team leader plays a vital role in ensuring the team is appropriately resourced and supported to deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced regulatory environment.

Eligibility requirements
Employment with the Department of Infrastructure Transport Regional Development Communications Sport and the Arts is subject to conditions prescribed within the Public Service Act 1999 including:
A selection panel will be established to assess your suitability against the advertised role.
If a merit pool is established it will be valid for 18 months from date it first appeared in the APS Gazette.
