Help shape the future of youth mental health in Southern Tasmania. The headspace Early Psychosis program provides innovative evidencebased care for young people aged 1225 who are at risk of or experiencing a first episode of psychosis. This new service at headspace Eastern Shore will deliver early intervention that fosters hope connection and meaningful recovery for young people and their families.


Your role your impact
As the Southern Team Leader headspace Early Psychosis youll lead the Mobile Assessment & Treatment Team (MATT) and Continuing Care Team (CCT) playing a central role in building a safe youthfriendly and familyinclusive service.

Your leadership will directly shape how young people access care experience support and move toward recovery.

You will:

  • Lead and coordinate the daily operations of the MATT/CCT teams
  • Provide oversight and guidance to clinicians managing early psychosis cases (in concert with the Clinical Director/Consultant Psychiatrist)
  • Deliver and embed evidencebased developmentally informed familyinclusive care
  • Provide leadership supervision and line management to multidisciplinary staff
  • Guide and mentor team members to ensure highquality consistent service delivery
  • Improve service quality through monitoring outcomes evaluation and innovation
  • Manage referrals into the Early Psychosis program to ensure timely access and seamless client pathways
  • Build strong partnerships with internal headspace teams
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key external services
  • Represent the service in crossagency forums and promote integrated care
  • Champion inclusive practice especially for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people
  • Ensure the workings of the Early Psychosis team are consistent with the Orygen EPICC model as well as local procedures and organizational policies
  • Offer secondary consultations to staff and external providers
  • Help coordinate multidisciplinary team discussions and clinical review meetings

You bring:

  • Advanced clinical skills in assessment psychological therapies and case management
  • Strong leadership experience and confidence coordinating multidisciplinary teams within the mental health sector
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and drive service quality
  • Confidence with documentation data management and reporting
  • Knowledge of and experience within early psychosis frameworks (EPPIC preferred)
  • Experience in youth mental health early intervention or related services
  • Skilled in supporting multidisciplinary teams to foster collaborative practice
  • High level of competence in risk assessment safety planning and crisis response
  • Capacity to mentor supervise and develop clinicians at varying levels of experience
  • Strong understanding of familyinclusive practice and youthfocused care
  • Excellent communication skills with young people families staff and external services
  • Ability to build and maintain effective partnerships with hospitals community services and other stakeholders
  • Commitment to early intervention principles and recoveryoriented practice
  • Strong organisational and servicecoordination skills
  • Commitment to reflective practice continuous improvement and clinical governance
  • Confidence in leading change implementing new processes and supporting service development


Mandatory qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in Allied Health or related discipline
  • Eligibility for registration with relevant professional body - AHPRA or AASW
  • Current drivers licence

  • Experience in complex case management
  • Experience working in a service that supports young people with complex mental health issues (early psychosis experience highly desirable
