Job Summary:

As a Supply Chain Aide you ensure the right supplies and equipment are available at the right time for the patient care team.

You will unpack items received from the storeroom including sterile supplies and verify expiration dates as appropriate.

You will keep adequate inventory levels on department floors and replenish when supplies are low.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Maintains a neat clean work environment using good storage distribution techniques:proper location rotation identification (on a daily basis)
  • Unpacks all items received from storeroom including sterile supplies ensuring the integrity ofsterility. Breaks down empty cartons and hauls to the compactor.
  • Verifies expiration dates as appropriate documents and organizes all supplies
  • Maintains adequate inventory levels on department floors and replenishes from warehousestock when supply levels are low.
  • Receives requests from patient units and user departments for supplies and delivers torequesting areas
  • Cleans carts and supply rooms as scheduled or needed; ensures dock is clean and free ofdebris
  • Performs other duties as assigned including covering for other personnel in the departmentdue to absences.
  • Due to continuously changing patient census/activity and staffing needs must have theflexibility to work a varying schedule should the need arise which may require workingovertime (greater than 40 hours a week) and/or shift durations that exceed the assigned statusfor shift length and/or hours per week.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 months on-the-job training to learn inventory paper flow policies and procedures

  • Previous experience related to job duties or knowledge of patient care supplies
