Social Worker - Full-time
Job Summary:
The Social Worker provides intensive clinical services to adolescents and their families. This role involves conducting individual group and family therapy assessing risks and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive treatment plans. The Social Worker also plays a crucial role in crisis intervention and advocacy ensuring that clients receive appropriate resources and support.
The successful candidate will:
Promote 21st century educational excellence through the vigorous support of the mission and goals of The Woodstock Academy;
Facilitate individual departmental and school excellence through the support of high-quality personnel reinforcement of best instructional practices encouragement of a culture of collaboration and a focus on student learning.;
Provide intensive clinical services for children adolescents and their families;
Conduct individual group and family therapy sessions to address emotional behavioral and psychological needs;
Develop comprehensive treatment plans in collaboration with families and other professionals;
Conduct risk assessments and provide clinical recommendations for interventions;
Participate as an active member of an interdisciplinary risk assessment team;
Provide crisis management and intervention services as needed;
Advocate for and empower clients and families by connecting them with essential resources;
Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings to coordinate care and treatment strategies; and
Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to all state and federal regulations regarding clinical practice.
Minimum qualifications:
Masters degree in social work (MSW) from an accredited institution;
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) preferred;
Valid Connecticut State Certification as a School Social Worker;
Experience working with children and adolescents in an educational setting;
Strong counseling advocacy crisis intervention risk assessment and social-emotional learning (SEL) skills;
Ability to collaborate with educators families and mental health professionals; and
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Knowledge of:
Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools (CBITS)
Focus: Trauma-informed CBT emotional regulation problem-solving relaxation techniques;
Best for: Adolescents exposed to trauma including violence abuse or natural disasters; and
Evidence: Well-studied in school-based and clinical settings for PTSD and anxiety reduction.
Second Step (Middle & High School Edition)
Focus: Social-emotional learning (SEL) conflict resolution empathy bullying prevention;
Best for: General adolescent population particularly in schools; and
Evidence: Strong research base in improving social skills and reducing aggression.
