The House of Commons Sergeant at Arms and Corporate Security is currently looking to staff the Security Liaison Advisor position.
This recruitment and selection process is restricted to the Office of the Sergeant at Arms and Corporate Security employees.
The Security Liaison Advisor provides specialized corporate expertise in security-related aspects of Parliamentary access to support the Client Care Team (CCT) in delivering secure and compliant access services to House of Commons clients. The incumbent ensures alignment with the security policies processes and procedures of the Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms and Corporate Security (SAACS).
In this role you will act as the primary point of escalation for complex or special security access requests. The position is responsible for assessing risks evaluating options and recommending solutions that balance operational needs with security requirements. You will also play a role in recommending changes and improvements to corporate security access operational policies and procedures and facilitating their integration into the CCT service environment.
As a corporate lead for access-related matters you will work collaboratively with internal and external partners across Parliament Hill. The incumbent facilitates coordination resolves access issues and helps maintain the integrity of the institutions security framework.

Qualifications :
Education:
- Successful completion of post-secondary education in a field related to security or an acceptable combination of education training and relevant experience.
Experiences:
- Extensive experience in a security environment.
- Recent experience working in security access operations within the last two years.
- Experience in guiding and advising clients on escalated service requests relating to security access requirements processes and policies.
- Experience in assessing threats and risks in relation to security access for individual and vehicle access to the Parliamentary Precinct.
- Experience liaising with Parliamentary Precinct security partners to coordinate and align security procedures for activities and events.
- Experience in advising senior management on policy and procedural improvements.
- Experience in maintaining collaborative work relationships with various internal and external stakeholders as well as security partners.
- Experience in coordinating building access operations for the Parliamentary Precinct.
Assets:
- Experience delivering client services and business partnerships preferably in the parliamentary context.
- Experience providing subject-matter expertise on Parliamentary Precinct security access operations.
- Experience in advising and supporting service transformation initiatives.
- Knowledge of security access management protocols and procedures including vehicle and individual access scanning exemptions and privileged access.
- Knowledge of the operations of Parliament including the House and Senate operations as they pertain to various events and activities.
- Knowledge of the protective and workplace security processes surrounding the access of persons and vehicles on the Parliament Precinct.
