The Brunswick School Department seeks a critical operational leader to serve as the Director of School Nutrition. This position is responsible for the direct comprehensive management and oversight of all nutrition staff and programming. The Director is responsible for implementing the districts strategic vision into daily operational execution ensuring a high-quality nutrition program for the School Department now and in the future. The Director oversees a staff of 24 and an approximate budget of $2 million. The Director works closely with district and school administrators and various local state and national vendors.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience in managing a school district nutrition program is preferred.
- Successful experience in a supervisory capacity.
- Experienced in managing developing and motivating staff.
- Highly effective communication skills with a proven ability to successfully establish and maintain effective working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders and contacts.
- Demonstrated leadership and management experience with staff and vendors.
- Proficiency in technology tools software applications and Google Workspace is required
- Experience with local state and federal reporting
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
- Maine Department of Education Criminal History Records Check (CHRC).

- Establishes and administers schedules/procedures for the nutrition program.
- Plans directs and supervises the work of all nutrition employees on an ongoing basis; evaluates them annually.
- Conducts routine and periodic inspections of nutrition programs on a regular basis to ensure district state and federal compliance.
- Establishes priorities and budgets.
- Recommends and communicates to internal and external stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
- Works with the District administration to ensure summer nutrition services are implemented effectively and efficiently.
- Complies with all state laws and regulations submits all reports and maintains records as required by the state.
- Provides in-service training for all nutrition staff.
- Oversees the purchasing of food equipment and supplies.
- Manages job postings interviews and hiring in accordance with district policies.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned.
