Job Summary:

University Health Services (UHS) is seeking a motivated Health Communication Strategist to join our Marketing & Health Communications team.

The Health Communication Strategist works collaboratively with health providers public health professionals and communications colleagues to develop evidence-based health communication and marketing campaigns. This individual will plan organize and prioritize campaigns focused on health issues that impact college students in alignment with UHS and Student Affairs strategic objectives.

About the Organization

UHS is UWMadisons student health center dedicated to promoting protecting and improving student health and wellbeing. UHS is a part of Student Affairs at UWMadison.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Writes edits and publishes content for various communication projects and marketing platforms to align with strategic initiatives and established communication campaigns

  • Provides project management and execution of communications programs initiatives and tactical plans

  • Communicates with stakeholders to verify requests and identify editorial resources

  • Monitors reach and effectiveness of communication campaigns projects and initiatives

  • Plans editorial content according to established goals and objects

  • Supports other communication priorities as needed including media relations internal communications and crisis response

Compensation: The starting salary is $60000 annually and is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Minimum of two years experience in writing social media communications or producing content for promotional and informational purposes.
  • Minimum of two years experience in project management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in communication public health marketing health education or related field.
  • Masters degree in communication public health or related field.
  • Experience in public health clinical care and/or health promotion.
  • Knowledge of emerging health topics and trends.
  • Ability to work with clinicians and public health professionals.
