The Legislative Computer Systems (LCS) division within the Office of the Clerk U.S. House of Representatives is seeking a Senior Test Analyst to join our Quality Assurance team. This role operates within an enterprise IT environment that includes software engineers DevOps specialists testers contractors business analysts and other manual and automated testers. LCS follows Agile delivery practices with frequent releases continuous integration and deployment and a strong emphasis on incorporating customer feedback into ongoing development.
The selected candidate will be responsible for designing developing and executing automated and manual tests to ensure software applications and data-driven systems meet functional technical performance and security requirements. They will build and maintain automated test suites within Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines to support continuous integration regression testing and high-quality software releases. They will work within an Agile product team alongside business analysts other testers developers and engineers to ensure quality standards testability and delivery timelines are met. The role plays a critical part in supporting release readiness for mission-critical systems operating under legislative timelines.
This is a hybrid position with required on-site work on Capitol Hill Washington DC. Telework is available. Occasional work outside normal business hours may be required due to the operational needs of the House.
PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Design develop and execute automated and manual tests to validate that system requirements and acceptance criteria are met.
Build and maintain automated test suites within Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines to support continuous integration regression testing release readiness and product delivery.
Work alongside business analysts developers engineers and other testers to ensure quality standards and testability are met.
Analyze and communicate test results defects trends and quality risks to technical and non-technical audiences.
Support quality assurance and user acceptance testing across multiple projects.
Support the full lifecycle of software delivery including requirements refinement development testing deployment and user adoption.
Workin a collaborative environment across multiple teams and multiple projects.
Seven (7) or more years of experience in an IT-related field including significant hands-on experience in software testing or quality assurance.
Demonstrated experience designing developing and executing automated and manual tests for complex software applications and data-driven systems.
Hands-on experience with test automation tools and integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to assess system behavior identify defects and evaluate quality and release risks.
Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to clearly communicate testing results risks and impacts to technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment.
It would be ideal if your experience also includes:
Experience with Azure DevOps and modern test automation frameworks.
Familiarity with data-driven or integrated enterprise systems.
Experience supporting regression testing release readiness and quality reporting.
Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
Knowledge of the federal legislative and law-making process.
