The team and the project
Each year Wise publishes its G20 Report an independent scorecard and policy analysis assessing progress by G20 members against the G20 Roadmap for Enhancing Cross-Border Payments which includes targets for speed access cost and transparency in international payments.
As we prepare the third edition (2026) you will be part of the small London-based team that leads the research data gathering compiling and editing of this flagship publication. Youll work closely with colleagues across our global Government Relations communications and banking teams to collect evidence engage with regulators and produce a report that shapes debate at the G20 and Financial Stability Board (FSB) level.
What youll do
- Support research and analysis for the 2026 G20 Report gathering information on regulation policy developments and market data across G20 members.
- Track policy and legislative changes affecting cross-border payments non-bank access to payment schemes and price transparency in coordination with Wises regional policy and banking leads.
- Assist with drafting and editing sections of the report including country profiles policy summaries and scorecard commentary.
- Contribute to stakeholder engagement helping prepare briefings for meetings with policymakers central banks and international organisations.
- Coordinate data validation with our external research partners and analysts to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Provide logistical and administrative support to the GR team including project management duties such as meeting minutes managing deadlines and maintaining research trackers.
- Support the launch of the G20 Report contributing to launch planning and execution across communications channels including social media short-form video LinkedIn content stakeholder briefings and external events.
Qualifications :
About you
- Youre in your final year of university or a recent graduate with a strong interest in international relations public policy economics or finance.
- You have excellent written and analytical skills with an ability to distil complex information clearly and concisely.
- Youre curious about how financial systems work and how good regulation can make them more competitive and transparent.
- Youre organised and detail-oriented capable of managing multiple research tasks at once.
- Youre confident working in an international environment and comfortable collaborating across time zones and functions.
- You will be a natural self-starter demonstrably able to manage your time productively capable of framing your approach and then meeting your stated objectives to deliver on a project.
- Prior experience in research public affairs financial policy or journalism is a plus but not essential.
- The ability to fluently read or write a language that covers any G20 markets in our Report is a bonus but not essential.
