Job Summary

Summary

Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! MCCS is a comprehensive program that supports and enhances the quality of life for Marines their families and others in the Marine Corps Community. We offer a team oriented environment comprised of military personnel civilian employees contractors and volunteers who keep the organization functioning smoothly and effectively.


Duties

The incumbent is involved in one or more recreational activities such as military or community center activities; youth activities; outdoor recreation; craft and hobby shops; athletics fitness and sports programs; music and theater and/or other similar MCCS recreational services.

Provides oversight of activities and necessary services to authorized patrons including general information on the use of equipment. Provides information concerning facilities and operation.

Ensures adherence to regulations and safety procedures. Monitors and checks the security of premises. May receive payments and make change.

Performs one or more of the following duties: Sweeps dry mops scrubs waxes and polished floors using brooms mop lightweight vacuum cleaners and lightweight floor scrubbers and buffers. Empties ashtrays and wastebaskets. Keeps rest rooms in clean orderly and sanitary condition. Cleans disinfects and deodorizes lavatories urinals and toilet bowls. Cleans mirrors sinks and water fountains. Dust ledges and woodwork. Replaces deodorizers toilet tissue hand towels and soap. Maintains a stock of cleaning materials and equipment and notifies supervisor when more are needed. Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Acknowledges customers smiles and makes eye contact. Asks questions to determine verify and solve problems. Checks for satisfaction on the quality of goods and services. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher level supervisor or proper point of contact for help when problems arise.

Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Uses required safety equipment and observes safe work procedures. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards and any injury occupational illness and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor.

Maintains personal identification information IAW with prescribed regulations and ensures confidentiality and security of information. Handles sensitive information that is proprietary privileged confidential or otherwise legally exempt from disclosure. Safeguards sensitive information and prevents unauthorized reading printing retaining copying or dissemination of information messages or correspondence in accordance with rules and regulations such as those covered by the Privacy Act 5 USC 552(a) Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act Public Law 104-191 and DOD Directive 6025.18. Notifies the higher level supervisor and senders immediately when personal identification information has been released and advises on how to properly recover and/or protect information.

Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

EVALUATIONS:

Qualifications

Six months experience in the assigned recreational activity is desired. Skill to learn MCCS policies rules and regulations involving the area and ability to communicate orally and in writing. Knowledge of basic mathematics. This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 20lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance.
